By following these steps, you can use DWe Control to switch between Hub Only, Software Only, and Hub + Software modes, allowing you to control how MIDI data is transmitted from the Drumlink Hub to your software and external hardware devices.
Perform the steps below:
-
Open DWe Control:
Launch DWe Control on your computer.
-
Access the Hub Config Panel:
Locate and click the "HUB" button on the upper left side of the DWe Control interface.
This action will open the Hub Config Panel.
-
Select the Desired Mode:
In the Hub Config Panel, you will find a drop-down menu next to the MIDI output. Use this menu to select the desired mode based on your needs:
- Software Only Mode: Select this if you want to send MIDI data to dw Soundworks or third-party software.
-
Hub Only Mode: Select this if you want to send MIDI data from the TRS MIDI jack on the Drumlink hub to trigger an external hardware device (e.g., Drum Sound Module, Synthesizer, Sampler). To use this mode, you'll need to connect a 3.5 mm TRS to 5-Pin Standard MIDI cable (Type A) to the external hardware device.
* When set to this mode, you will not be able to use DWe Control to adjust pad parameters. -
Software + Hub Mode: Select this if you want to send MIDI data to both software and an external hardware device simultaneously. Like Hub Only mode, you'll need to connect a 3.5 mm TRS to 5-Pin Standard MIDI cable (Type A) to the external hardware device for this mode.
-
Configure MIDI Maps (if necessary):
Depending on the mode you choose, you may need to configure the MIDI mapping settings.
This typically involves using the MIDI Map Panel in DWe Control to define how MIDI messages are routed and interpreted for both software and external hardware. Follow the instructions provided in DWe Control for setting up the MIDI mappings correctly.
-
Save and Close:
After selecting your desired mode and configuring the MIDI mappings (if required), click the "CLOSE" button at the bottom of the Hub Config Panel to apply your settings and exit the configuration panel.
