Calibrating your DWe drum set is essential for optimizing the triggers and ensuring the best performance. This process is necessary when initially setting up the kit or if you change the tension of any of the drumheads. Here's a step-by-step guide to calibrating your snare drum and toms in DWe Control:
Note: The bass drum does not need calibration.
1. Enable AUTOTRACK:
Open DWe Control.
Check the AUTOTRACK button located in the upper left corner under the HUB button. This button enables automatic instrument selection.
2. Select the Drum:
Hit a drum (snare or tom) to select it. AUTOTRACK will automatically choose the instrument you've hit.
3. Access the Calibration Option:
In the Selected Pad window (usually on the interface), locate a “Calibrate DRUM” button underneath the edit button for the selected drum.
4. Initiate Calibration:
Click the "Calibrate DRUM" button for the selected drum.
During this process, you may see "SYNC" flashing in yellow on the selected instrument.
5. Perform Calibration:
Hit the rim of the drum gently to initiate the calibration process.
As you hit the rim, you'll notice that the flashing "SYNC" indicator will disappear, indicating that the calibration is complete.
6. Repeat for Other Drums:
Hit the next drum (snare or tom) you want to calibrate.
Repeat the calibration process for each drum until all of them (except the bass drum) have been calibrated.
7. Future Adjustments:
If you change the tension of the drumheads after calibration, you will need to recalibrate the specific drum(s).
By following these steps, you can calibrate your DWe drums to ensure optimal performance and responsiveness.
